The Nix Group provided design services on two levels of the Dobie Center
for twelve food court vendors and several retail tenants including the
University Federal Credit Union as well as design services for these floor's
common areas. With base building elements such as the counter faces and
bulkhead separation walls bringing uniformity to the food court's edge, it
was the interior architecture of each vendors space that gave each its own
identity. The firm was further challenged to solve the unique problem of
exhausting the hood systems of the various food court spaces through two
stories of occupied space above.
